Care Home Manager

Louise has worked in the care sector for many years, thirty to be exact.

For fifteen of those years she has worked in management, five at Brookside Care Home.  Caring for all ages and a diverse range of abilities, elderly care was her passion.

Louise has completed many courses to continually develop and learn, the care sector never stays still and Louise is aware of the need for constant self-reflection and learning.

Louise has Institute and Leadership in Management and has a diploma in Health and Social Care for older people and has Registered Manager’s Award.  She is the Key Mover to ensure the team of staff have good sound knowledge of moving and handling issues.  She has trained in risk assessments, she has train the trainer award in safeguarding adults and has also achieved her FAW certificate.

Louise works as an active part of the team and firmly believes that a hands-on approach to leadership is the only way to teach, achieve and be approachable for her residents, staff and all visitors.

The team of staff at Brookside are always reminded, and work by the ethos that “our residents do not live in our workplace, we work in their home”.

If you ask her, Louise will tell how her biggest and most proud achievement of all is that she was a finalist in the Care Manager of the year award which she treasures.

Residents, staff and visitors alike will readily tell you that you will often “hear Louise before you see her” and although she will tell you she is singing, it certainly sounds nothing like singing!
